Name: Reggie Franklin, aka the A-TRAIN, baby!
Canon: The Boys
Canon Point: 2x08, " WHAT I KNOW. "

Age: 33
Appearance: I'm the fastest fucking man alive!
History: All the other kids with their pumped up kicks...

Personality:
    ( - ) UNACCOUNTABLE
Irresponsible isn't a big enough word to describe A-Train's particular brand of self-absorbed, reckless behavior as a member of the Seven, although it's a good place to start. A-Train, like much of the rest of his superhero peers, is a classic example of someone who has let their celebrity status go to their head, focused on image and reputation far more than actual heroics, and certainly more than any consequences -- let alone casualties -- of his actions. Though he tends not to use his status for outright evil or sadistic purposes, he often still acts as an accessory for bigger crimes or simply remains passively indifferent to all manner of Vought and the Seven's awful behavior, minding his own business and never challenging the status quo. He isn't a peeping tom like Translucent and doesn't sexually assault anyone like Homelander and the Deep, but there's still very little he's actually above doing; after all, he is still a murderer.

He is positioned as a foil of sorts against Starlight (new team member and moral center of the Seven), having implicitly also begun his superhero career wanting to make a real difference before then settling on simply making a difference in his own life, gradually becoming more and more cynical and apathetic until his moral code has dulled possibly irreparably. Not only that, when there are consequences for his actions (or inaction) he is quick with excuses and justifications, positioning himself as a victim-- no matter what kind of terrible things he's capable of when backed into a corner he can always seem to justify them to himself; it was an accident; he had no choice, he was "forced" to do it; he did it, but it was someone else's fault, here is why everyone else is to blame more than he is.

    ( - ) INSECURE
Because his power of super speed is one that requires constant training and discipline for him to remain "the fastest man alive," A-Train falls into addiction and self-destructive habits very quickly due to his fear of losing his spot to a younger speedster, and therefore also losing his career, status, and livelihood when the day finally comes when training and discipline are no longer enough. Because of how hard he's worked to get where he is and how much of his identity he's wrapped up in being A-Train of the Seven, he's willing to do whatever he has to do, whether that means endangering his health (or even his life), throwing other people under the bus to improve his own standing, or blackmail.

The way he sees it, he simply cannot afford to let his guard down even for a moment, which can bring out very paranoid, manipulative sides to him. In season 2 he warns Starlight how you "never fuck with the money," how going public with what they know could cost them everything, and when she tells him there are more important things, A-Train tells her that the only people who say that are the people who grew up with money. It doesn't bother him making compromises or sacrifices, even ones that could be more integral to who he is as a person than his status, if it means he'll be good enough to remain on top, and that's really what it's come to for him: not being noble, or talented, but just good enough, even if it can't be his natural talents that keep him there.

    ( - ) ERRATIC
One of the things that makes A-Train the most dangerous is his unpredictability. When he's involved, emotionally or otherwise, is when he can become extremely temperamental, easily upset to the point where every little obstacle may cause him to spin out more and more in messy, visible ways (akin to his namesake, even the smallest thing in his path might derail and throw A-Train off-course in a way he only then makes worse, not better). At the drop of a hat he can become irrational and petty, as well as deeply manipulative, compartmentalizes wildly to the point of truly convincing himself his delusional points-of-view are rational and justified, bouncing between any range of emotions within moments before settling, adapting, and redirecting himself in a more focused but usually quite destructive way.

    ( + ) PRAGMATIC
In contrast to his unstable behavior, however, A-Train can also be surprisingly reasonable, level-headed, clever, and even rather diplomatic when it comes to navigating both the complicated social dynamics of the Seven or more objective situations at times. A-Train carries himself like your typical arrogant pro-athlete, capable of easy -- if still mostly superficial -- charm and friendliness, and is obsessed with being the best and staying on the top of his game, willing to do whatever it takes to get and stay there. While this is not always a good thing, it does mean he is also constantly working hard, constantly striving to improve himself and do what he needs to maintain his comfortable lifestyle, which often does lead him to doing the "right thing" if not always for altruistic reasons. He's capable of recognizing and even doing the right thing (particularly if it could actively benefit him as well), including to the point of working with the opposition toward a greater goal. Rarely is anything he does, even when it's good and right, ever selfless -- when it requires any personal risk to him without reward he will often opt to do nothing, or the easy thing, instead -- but when it comes to the Seven and the choices they often have to make, and especially A-Train himself, it's the action and result that really matters more so than the intention.

A-Train has a deep sense of self-preservation and is, foremost, most loyal to himself and his options than he is to any particular side. Even at his most rational, he knows what side of his bread is buttered, and will discard or shuck aside his own beliefs and dignity -- or even his loved ones -- if the pay-off seems worth it; he'd still rather live a gilded life under Vought (and Homelander's) thumb than be a righteous nobody.

Powers and Abilities:
Superhuman Speed, Strength, Durability, and Regenerative Healing, in addition to all adjacent sub-powers associated with these (as listed at the link) such as enhanced/accelerated perception, metabolism, and so forth.

I do not believe any of these powers are game-breaking so as to require nerfing, especially since in season 2 it's shown that the heart condition he's developed due to his Compound V addiction has greatly impacted his ability to run like he used to, but regardless I am amendable to doing so at mod discretion!

Inventory:
    ►► his costume
    ►► 3 month's supply of Compound V*

*For his own personal temptation/use; any other potential purposes or uses, including by other characters, would only occur after/pending mod approval.
